"Useless for porridge but fine for soup" star star star star star_border The bowl is too small for porridge, it bubbles up and ends up all over the microwave and dripping down the exterior of the bowl. Works fine for heating up soup though and is leak proof when transporting the contents. Would have given it 5 stars if you could actually cook porridge in it. support_agent A note from the team Thank you for your review. We'd recommend stirring the porridge part way through the cooking time. You could try cooking for longer on a lower temperature. we're pleased you find it works well for heating up soup.
"its a brilliant way to reheat food in the microwave." star star star star star used for reheating food at home and work. I don't understand why it's been called 'porridge' - we use it for everything as it's the perfect size for reheating leftovers for lunch. this has become our most used tupperware. There's a little flap in the lid you can pop open to release steam. you can hold it steaming hot out of the microwave without getting hurt. the handle is comfortable. it's efficient at heating food. we don't bother with the spoon. its a brilliant way to reheat food in the microwave.
"Not for porridge - GREAT for other lunch on the go items." star star star star star If you want to make porridge then use the Microwave Cookware Stain Proof - Red Lidded Bowl 1.4L that is big enough to stop a full sachet portion boiling over. I use this a lot though for my lunches and have done for years. It is the right size. I transport soup in it, although would try and keep it the right way up. Recently seal not as tight and perhaps wrap a used bread bag or tea towel or such like if I think there's a chance it might end up on it's side and have thin soup in it, but otherwise it's very secure.
"Also Disappointed" star star star_border star_border star_border Bought this 'Porridge Pot' primarily for making porridge, but as on previous review (2018) it disappointed. I also reduced quantities down by half but it also exploded in the microwave. If it is necessary to reduce the power down and increase the cooking time, it kind of defeats the object of trying to have a quick easy breakfast. Would suggest the maker look at the venting system to enable this to be fit for purpose? Such a pity as the idea is brilliant. support_agent A note from the team We recommend stirring the porridge part way through the cooking time, however we’re very sorry to hear it wasn't suitable for your needs and will be in touch shortly.
"Disappointed" star star star_border star_border star_border This is a neat little bowl and seemed to be exactly what I needed to make my morning bowl of microwave porridge. However, in spite of reducing down from 1 portion, as recommended on my cereal, to a half portion, and reducing the recommended cooking time, the porridge still explodes all over the microwave. It is not just a small amount! It would still make a handy box to take other food to work to reheat, just not porridge. support_agent A note from the team You could try cooking for longer on a lower temperature.
