Britain's Best Home Cook Book
Product number: 73362
Britain’s Best Home Cook, the BBC TV cookery competition that has inspired this beautiful book is judged by Mary Berry, Chris Bavin and Dan Doherty and features Claudia Winkleman – but the ultimate stars of the series, and the book, are the delicious, inspiring dishes cooked by the contestants… With full colour photography, this official companion to the series brings together the most outstanding recipes from the ten contestants, demonstrating their culinary flair and diverse backgrounds, and showcases an edible representation of modern Britain.
Recognising that modern home cooks are inventive, ingenious and talented at feeding their families and friends, Britain’s Best Home Cook sets out to find and test the best – seeking dishes that remind us of home, meals that can be shared with loved ones and recipes that have been handed down through generations.
Every recipe has been thoroughly tested to be suitable for any standard of cooking ability, simplified where necessary and, if ingredients are unusual, alternatives have been suggested to make shopping easier. Tips are included throughout to offer variations, such as how to make a recipe vegetarian or vegan, so any household can take advantage of the contestants’ hard work – but if you want to find out who cooked which dish, you’ll have to watch the show!
With a foreword by the effervescent Claudia, Britain’s Best Home Cook Book contains over one hundred recipes in eight easy-to-digest chapters. Aiming to inspire you to get into the kitchen, there’s a wealth of choice, from classic dishes such as Fish Pie or Lancashire Hotpot, to more modern meals such as Moroccan Lamb Burgers or Teriyaki Trout – and of course, there are desserts – we like the sound of the Mango and Raspberry Cake, but the all the choices look and sound delicious.
