An updated take on the traditional ice cream scoop, this cleverly designed Trigger Action Ice Cream Scoop from OXO Good Grips is strongly made from stainless steel so it easily scoops through even the most solid ice cream, while the trigger action pops out perfect globes every time.
Trigger Action For Easy Release
Expertly engineered, the ratchet trigger mechanism sends a bar sweeping around the bowl to easily release a perfectly round orb of ice cream or sorbet and deliver it precisely into wafer cones, waffle cones or dessert dishes.
Anti-Slip Handle
Shaped into a tab to stop your hand sliding up towards the business end, the handle also has soft non-slip panels, making it comfortable to hold and ensuring your grip stays firmly in one place.
Multipurpose Scooping

This was bought to dispense muffin and other baking mixtures, as I'm not the neatest at doing the filling. Had a little trouble getting to grips with the trigger action, but once mastered it does just what it should.
The quality of the scoop is great, and the mechanism does exactly what you want it to. The one big flaw of this scoop (hence the 3-star rating) is that the thumb rest for the mechanism is at 90 degrees to the handle. It's an awkward reach for anyone and strains your thumb, not comfy at all!
Bought this at my local branch, to replace a scoop without the trigger; it is useless as a scoop, it is not strong enough to cut through (reasonably softened) ice cream, so the trigger wasn't of any relevance. Luckily, I hadn't thrown away the old scoop. I see now that OXO have a different model for precisely this reason! Wish I had seen it before buying this. Afteralll, icecream scoops are meant to scoop out ice cream!!!

I bought this to make scooping ice cream easier than using a spoon. Alas it did not live up to expectations at all - the first time it was used the trigger bent when pressed, despite the ice cream being soft. To make matters worse, I can't find the receipt or remember the date of the visit to the store to get a refund so have just consigned it to the bin.

I bought this in Llanelli. I paid cash. I didn’t keep the receipt so I can’t take it back. The metal piece inside the cup doesn’t go all the way round so it’s no use. One for the bin I’m afraid.
Many thanks for placing your review. Our Buyers have advised that the design of the scoop is such that the metal part doesn't go completely around the inside of the cup. If your freezer is very cold and the ice cream’s set hard, you may find it helpful to warm the Trigger Scoop in some hot water before use.
