Everyone at Lakeland has been blown away by the results of modelling with Renshaw’s Petal Paste – it looks almost like white porcelain china once it’s set, yet it’s not fragile or brittle to work with. This makes it possible for any budding sugarwork artiste to create flowers, petals and leaves that look incredibly lifelike while being remarkably strong… and edible too!
Petal Paste
It can be rolled out to a truly incredible wafer thinness before you cut and shape it, so whether you’re fashioning individual petals and leaves or you’re using sugarcraft cutters to help you create a multi-petalled floral masterpiece for a celebration cake, you know each piece will have a lifelike delicacy, just like real, silky petals.
Ultra-smooth, this sugar paste can be coloured before you start sculpting or airbrushed afterwards to create delicate, lifelike flowers, models or figures. Renshaw’s Petal Paste can be hand modelled, pressed into moulds, embossers and formers, or rolled out for use with cutters – it’s perfect for every kind of flower and can be used for creating intricate textural elements too – especially brilliant if you’re modelling a princess or a bride in a frothy gown. Each piece will set firmly, which makes it great for assembling small pieces into a larger figure or bloom.
Each pack includes three wraps to help you reseal the unused paste for storage.
Made in the United Kingdom, it’s suitable for vegetarians, and it’s Kosher and Halal approved.
How to Use
Cut off the amount of paste you think you’ll require, warm it in your hands and knead it until it’s soft enough to roll out or model into the shapes you have planned. Use with cornflour or icing sugar when rolling. A small amount of white vegetable fat can be used to help soften it while kneading.
