Create and customise your caterpillar cake
From classic caterpillars to fairies and dinosaurs, our moulds give you loads of choice when it comes to crafting a cake that’s custom-made for your little angel… or monster! There’s a teeny tiara and oh-so-smart court shoes, perfect for a party princess; football boots for footie fans; wings and a wand to make a magical butterfly or fairy; and even a tail and little back ‘plates’ to finish off a delicious dinosaur. The large face mould fits a standard Swiss roll and the smaller one is just the right size for mini rolls, so it’s easy to quickly create bite-sized caterpillars too.
Easy-to-use, easy-release silicone moulds
Once you’ve baked and rolled up a Swiss roll and covered it in buttercream or chocolate, it’s time to choose your caterpillar’s look and get crafting your decorations – and because the moulds are made from super-flexible, heat safe silicone, it really couldn’t be easier. Simply drizzle melted chocolate or Colour Melts into the moulds you want to use, leave them to set… then press up under each mould to pop them out with ease.

Tried this today. Melted some white chocolate and it worked. One issue is that the moulds are not level so everything sets on a slight slant unless you pad it straight. About to go and keep the kids entertained with mini chocolate catapillar assembling Another couple of small head moulds would time saving.
Well made as always with the Lakeland products and extremely easy to use and unmould.However having only 1 mini caterpillar face made making a batch time consuming and impractical - who would only make 1? They are so cute...please consider making a sheet of mini faces Lakeland.

I'm sure it's my fault for being less than dexterous, or skilled in the cake decorating department, but I was disappointed quite how badly wrong this all went. As another review said, the moulds aren't flat (the monster feet are deeper than the scales, so it doesn't sit flat on any surface) which doesn't help to start with. Neither the crown nor the wand came out whole, even though I spent a fortune on the correct candy melts (elsewhere sadly, Lakeland don't seem to stock them any more) It's a good idea, but beware of potential frustration.
