If you’re making your own chocolates or chocolate-coated treats and you want them to have a professional glossy finish that doesn’t deteriorate as soon as it leaves the fridge, you know that you need to temper your chocolate. And if you’re tempering chocolate you need this neat Chocolate Thermospoon.
Whether you’re tempering dark, bittersweet, milk or white chocolate, at each stage of the process reaching exactly the right temperature is the secret of success. This small spoon, with a temperature probe in its head and a clear LED display on its handle, is the key to keeping an eye on the temperature of your chocolate at every stage without having to stop stirring.
Being silicone, the detachable spoon is not only heat-resistant to 180°C – comfortably high enough to use in jam making, too, if you want to – but it’s also flexible to make sure that every drop of carefully tempered chocolate gets used. And you can just pull out the probe to pop the spoon in the dishwasher when you’re done or to use the probe separately as a meat thermometer.

An ordinary thermometer would have done just as well.
I agree with the other reviewer, this has a design fault that the spike of the thermometer pierces straight through the silicon spoon when attached. What a shame as apart from that I love the look of it and ergonomics. Sadly I will be returning and looking for an alternative

First used today. Overall, this is not fit for purpose. The thermometer has a detachable spoon which attaches halfway along the handle. The probe pushes through the spoon itself which is made of silicon. This design allows melted chocolate to seep through the space up into the handle and this drips down onto your hands whilst stirring the chocolate, resulting waste and mess. After washing it is impossible to dry and clean inside. Not hygienic. Water & chocolate do not mix. The spoon where the thermometer point attaches is already splitting after one use.
