Beth from our buying team loves corn-on-the-cob and was amazed at how easy she found it to use this little Lékué Microwave Sweetcorn Cooker, and it’s so much more convenient than fishing hot cobs out of boiling water then using a knife to try and coat their slippery surfaces with butter.
Not only does steaming corn in the microwave mean masses more flavour, it helps hang on to all the vital vitamins and nutrients too, turning a 5-minute treat into a healthy snack, even when you’ve added just a little butter to the tray.
It’s also so much quicker and easier than boiling corns or wrapping them in foil to bake in the oven – no burnt fingers with this little marvel! Just screw the heat-resistant handles into the ends of each cob and pop them into the slots in the plastic tray. Add a little water, replace the lid and cook for 6 or 7 minutes (or a little less if you’re just cooking one cob), adding some butter if you wish. When they’re done, just take the plastic holders – which sit outside the steamer tray so they shouldn’t get too hot to handle – give the cobs a little spin to coat with the butter and serve. Sweet and delicious!
