Simply screw in the holders either end of the cobs, rest them in the two compartments, place the lid on top & cook in the microwave, full power, for five minutes. I drench them in butter & often like Tabasco sauce liberally sprinkled over. I eat them in the cooker as it is perfect for rolling the cobs around to keep them covered in butter. You don't have to cook two, if you're not as greedy as I am, you can just cook one! I love this item!
