Just throw in your herbs and spices, use the mortar to crush and grind, and your spice blend or pesto mix will be subtly enhanced and flavoured by the natural minerals of pure Himalayan rock salt.

With its naturally abrasive characteristics, rock salt is super-easy to keep clean with just a wipe of a damp cloth. Being a natural product, your pestle and mortar will, over time, start to wear away after grinding lots of herbs and spices, but that’s not the end of its life – once it gets too worn to use as a pestle and mortar, you can grind up the pieces and carry on using the salt to season your food.
