"not egregious" star star star star_border star_border very big - had to use the biggest pan to fit both. Lot of water needed. Bit hit and miss as difficult to see how cooked they are, but in the end possibly the nearest attempt at a reasonable poached egg of all the devices tried so far (silicon pouches, microwave poacher), though still a wide margin for improvement support_agent A note from the team Thank you for your review. "Egg-asperating" star star_border star_border star_border star_border Tried these last night for first time. Too deep and need big, deep pan to use two at a time - probably 3 to 4 times the boiling water needed normally and really didn't produce a poached egg any better than open water. Floated up during use wasting a lot of white 4) Hard to tell when we're done - 1 was hard, 1 nearly ok. The poachers were left peppered with bits of egg and the pan needed soaking to remove all the egg white on it. Put back in box in bottom of cupboard, probably won't ever be seen again. support_agent A note from the team Thank you for placing your review on the Oxo Good grips Egg Poachers. We're sorry to learn you've not had a great experience with them. Our recommendation would be to try this method Place poacher in pan, hole side down. Fill pan with water to just above the fill line. Add a splash of white vinegar bring water to a simmer, crack egg into centre of poacher. Begin timing the poaching, keeping heat low to maintain simmer. Remover poacher from pan use a slotted spoon to lift & drain the egg. If using both poachers at the same time, a 20cm dia pan would be recommended & cooking times would vary. "Good Egg" star star star star star Great product makes great poached eggs. Bought 2 and then 2 more so I could make 4 yummy eggs at a time.
"Excellent egg poacher (or eggscellent?!)" star star star star star I've found that these are a reliable way of cooking poached eggs, every time. They are larger than I expected, so a wide pan (eg a deep saute pan) is necessary otherwise it's a pan per poacher, however this hasn't been a problem. I've avoided cooking poached eggs at home until now, to be honest.
"OXO Good Grips Egg Poachers" star star star star star Don't be put off by the negative reviews about this product, this are a total game changer for poached eggs. My method..... have the water on rolling boil, take off the heat so the water is still, and then carefully drop in your eggs. Put the pan back on a low heat for a few minutes, and voila, you will have amazing poached eggs.
