"Unstable and not Non Stick"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

I really wish I'd read all the reviews for this wok. I agree - it's not non stick at all and it's unstable - the handle being far too heavy for the wok makes it unbalanced. Feel I've wasted my money. Very disappointed

Would say something like – We’re sorry you found the handle too heavy. Food will stick to non-stick woks if the wok is too hot – we’d recommend to raise the heat steadily and keep the food moving.

"Disappointed"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

Love my school of wok wok so decided to buy the non-stick version too. It is not non stick. Everything sticks. I have owned it about 2 months now and its going in the bin as its now going rusty where the non stick coating is coming away. Always washed it with a non abrasive sponge and used silicon utensils. Really disappointed.

support_agent A note from the team

Thanks for your review. We’re sorry to hear of your disappointment. Food will stick to non-stick woks if the wok is too hot - we’d recommend to raise the heat steadily and keep the food moving. To remove any stuck on food we’d advise to cover it with cold water and then bring to the boil. Once boiling, use a wooden spatula to remove the food. You’d then just need to drain and wash in soapy water before drying thoroughly. To remove rust you’d can use a non-abrasive scourer, rub in some vegetable or sunflower oil (rather than olive oil) with a paper towel, if it's a larger area the area should be seasoned. Then wash and dry. It is quite normal for the non-stick layer to darken on the base and at the bottom of the sides through normal use.

"Disappointed with School of Wok"

Unbalanced on any part of gas hob. Handle too heavy unless a lot of ingredients in pan.

We’re sorry this hasn’t worked well for you.

"Not happy"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

I’ve always been very happy with everything I’ve bought from Lakeland, but I am not happy with this Wok at all. I followed all the instructions, i.e. washing it beforehand, and attempting to “season” it, and at first it was great, but I did notice a slight mark on it after the first (gentle) wash after use, and even though it’s only been used a few times as I haven’t had it long, food sticks to it every time now and I just won’t be using it any more. I bought this to replace one I had used for years, but this one is definitely not as good. I’m very disappointed and do not recommend.

There's no need to season this wok, it's also best to heat the wok up slowly and steadily, but were sorry the food has started to stick.

"Really disappointing"

It’s a great size which attracted me to the wok. Advertised as non stick I thought it would wipe clean like other non stick pans but unfortunately this is not the case. I’m out off using it as it’s such an effort to clean. I did follow all the instructions but it’s just not for me.

support_agent A note from the team

We're sorry you found this difficult to clean. You can boil water in the wok and scrape the food with a wooden spatula, there's also useful video on You Tube - ‘Dr Wok How to Clean a Wok’
