Santa Claus Chocolate Mould

I have been looking for a Santa mold for ages, then found this one which looked amazing and a high level of detail. If the choc is tempered correctly the choc pops out no problem at all, I've made 8 over the last 2 weeks. The only thing stopping this being 5 stars is that when the choc Santa is out the mold, both halves fit perfectly but as soon as you melt the edges to join the 2 halves together that perfect alignment is gone and your left with gaps around the edges. I would recommend say a 2mm or so extra lip on the choc so the joining stage does not effect the look of the finished article.

Total rubbish, I have been moulding chocolate for about 10 years and this has to be the worst mould I have come across, I spent good money on quality dark chocolate and there is just no way to get it to release from the very rigid mould

I totally agree with the last review. I was hoping for great results from this mould as it looked well made and the detailing great. However, there's just no way to release the chocolate - well apart from breaking either the mould or the chocolate. The instructions state to twist the mould one way and then the other and the chocolate would release. The mould is hard acrylic, so there's no way to twist it! I tried for 15 minutes until my hands were that sore I couldn't cope with it any longer. A total waste of my time and a waste of a good amount of chocolate too!

Unfortunately I have to completely echo the views of the previous 2 reviewers. I bought this to make for my Dad's Christmas stocking - so glad I decided to make today and not leave until christmas eve. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get out of the mould - and I did wash, dry and buff thoroughly before use etc. It is very rigid - looks and feels very good quality and really beautiful detailed - but there is no way to twist it to release as instructed. As per previous reviewer I now have very sore hands from the sharp edges after trying to twist it to get the thing out!

I brought this to make Christmas gifts. I followed the instructions on the back & the chocolate wouldn't release from the mould. I read online you should temper chocolate first. So I tried again & only covered the head. It came out. So did the whole santa. Wouldn't release. So I tried again and couldn't get the santa out. I called Lakeland. They told me to drop it from 1-2 inches and it should release. It did but it's legs seperated from it's body. Tried again and it cracked again. So did a full santa rather than a shell and it wouldn't come either. SO after lots of time and money will return.
