Fillables 29cm Square Cake Tin

I bought this a month ago and have made 4 cakes (busy birthday period in our house!). It makes a large, fun cake for parties, with a good flat surface to carry whatever decoration you want. I used cake release to ensure they turned out without problems. I wouldn't use the recipes in the booklet though - they are too skimpy for the tin and also give a very crumbly sponge. I had a much better result once I switched to tried and trusted recipes, scaled up to a 5 or 6 egg mix.

After reading the reviews I decided to use my own sponge recipe and calculated the dose of a total of 6 eggs (3 eggs per tin). It still wasn't enough to cover the holes, but next time I'll up it to 8 eggs! I also worried about it getting the cake out of the tin, so I cut out a piece of baking parchment - yes it took ages! - but the cake came out easily. It looks really good and the possibilities for fillings are endless!! I think I'll be using this tin a lot!

I brought this tin to make something different for a school bake stall , I decided to use my own recipe as the ones provided are no way big enough for this size tin so I used a 6 egg mix. baked for 25 mins great. Then comes the releasing the cake , and no way is it coming out even though I greased it as recommend . Very unhappy after using such a large mix and wasted and the cost of the tin expensive . If I could give this no stars I would, rubbish product waste of money.
