About the Lakeland Earthenware Range

If you’ve never cooked with earthenware, you might just be wondering what’s so special about it, but once you’ve given it a go, you’ll never look back. Used for centuries, clay is a natural alternative to metal, and our earthenware range is cured at a very high temperature making it durable, versatile and safe up to 230°C in your oven. More surprisingly, it’s also safe on gas hobs either with or without a diffuser, and in your fridge or freezer. The thick construction distributes and retains heat incredibly efficiently, so whatever you cook, bake or roast will be cooked beautifully without any pre-heating.

The unglazed finish draws moisture away from food for light cakes, pies with crisp edges and golden loaves with a perfect crust, and offers a naturally non-stick surface that’s effective without the need for chemical coatings, so even muffins baked without cases pop out really easily.
