Snowflake Pie Mould

I bought the Snowflake Pie Mould recently, as they looked so pretty and attractive and would make beautiful Christmas gifts, but was sceptical as to whether they would actually work, so I had a practice run! Yay! I was soooooooooo pleased with them and they look beautiful... The only thing I would say is that you have to be prepared to have a lot of pastry, as they are quite big! LOVE it!!! Wish I could upload photos to show you Lakeland and other customers thinking of buying them, as to how good they look!

I have just used this snowflake and I agree with the other customer review you need a lot of pastry just to make even one. It does look impressive and I know my husband will not say no to it!! Please lakeland could we have another one that would make smaller pies, as I would like to make them into mini mincemeat snowflakes, rather than one large one.

Having bought this a couple of months ago I finally decided to test it out today. The only real problems I had was that it was difficult to get the finished pies out of the mould; after rolling the pastry slightly thicker than I normally would this became easier.Secondly it does take more time than traditional mince pie making. I was also wondering if it would be a good idea to trim of the fluted parts after cutting, as when baked these sections become very brittle as they are pressed even thinner when sealing the pies but after looking again at the product page it appears not.

The little one makes the cutest mince pies ever seen. It's a bit fiddly compared to making them in the usual way because you have to put the mince in one at a time obviously but the results are worth it. Great fun.
