Collapsible Silicone Steamer

Product number: 71681

Folding flat, this collapsible silicone microwave steamer won't hog cupboard space when not in use, yet is always ready to spring into action for some really healthy cooking in either the microwave or oven. It makes cooking everything from peas to chicken easy, and as steaming retains more vitamins, minerals, flavour and texture than boiling, the meal on your plate will be extra tasty as well as extra healthy.

Not just easy to store, silicone really lends itself to steaming – it's heat-resistant, won't take on the flavour of your food, and is effortless to clean – there's no box it doesn't tick.

"Great product"

Very handy to microwave steam veg or fish. And it collapses down for compact cupboard storage. Good quality.

I have used it to cook frozen vegetables & it does a good job although takes longer than indicated in the instructions. Very easy to take apart to clean; needs to be left to soak for a while to completely get rid of cooking smell. This is a useful product & the fact that it’s collapsible, makes it very easy to store.

"Simply brilliant!"

Perfect for steaming things like beetroot in the microwave. Much quicker than roasting and less messier and quicker than boiling. Also really great for steaming other veg or part steaming potatoes.

I have many items in my kitchen from Lakeland, many of them absolute favourites. This item is described as a casserole dish, having used it I found it very difficult to handle as it was too pliable for this and a whole lot ended up on the kitchen floor. Sorry

We're sorry this happened. As long as it isn't squeezed it should be fine to remove with the handles, but you could try putting the steamer on a plate or tray to make moving easier.

I bought this to replace the traditional Lakeland hard plastic steamer, the main attraction being the space saving feature. Unfortunately, the rubber design is dangerous, it easily folds down when trying to secure the lid which isn’t great when you’re dealing with steam. The lid is difficult enough to fit when the item is cold let alone when it’s boiling. Not sure either that this is a practical product to steam rice. The rice (and small veg) fall into the bottom and draining the rice is just not possible. Such a shame as it’s a great idea, just not a practical design and not cheap either!

We're sorry this proved difficult to use and I see we've refunded you for this. We'd advised that when it comes to putting the lid on it's best to hold the handles when you press the lid down so that your weight isn’t collapsing the product. You can put your fingers under the handles, then push down with your thumbs.
