When you’ve put all that effort into making a tarte Tatin, there’s nothing worse than that moment when you turn the tin over… and nothing happens! Forget trying to coax your dessert out gently, only to end up with a pile of pieces on the plate: Lékué’s Microwave Tarte Tatin Mould is a tailor-made silicone and ceramic set that makes it easy to turn out perfect creations time after time.
It can be a tricky pudding to create, with apples to caramelise, a perfect pastry to produce and then all that flipping over to tackle, but this sticky sweet treat couldn’t be simpler with this set – after baking in the non-stick silicone mould, simply slip the edge of the ceramic plate neatly into the flexible lip, which will ensure everything is held securely in place as you flip. Then just lift the mould cleanly away to reveal your perfect upside-down cake
Helpfully, this set comes with a recipe to bake this traditional French dessert in a conventional oven and also a speedier microwave version if you’re short on time.
For easy cleaning, the Tarte Tatin mould is dishwasher safe.
Originally, tarte Tatin was traditionally made with apples, but we’ve tried it with a variety of fruits such as pineapple and pear and it’s equally yummy.
