Did you know that seaweed is incredibly nutritious and that many of the varieties found along our coastline are edible? You could forage for your own, but Mara have done all the hard work for you and put together this tasting kit to give you a flavour of this superfood of the sea. Sustainably harvested by hand from the wild pure waters of along the Scottish coast, they dry their seaweeds naturally and grind them down into umami-rich seasonings that are used by many leading chefs. Packed with vitamins and minerals, raw, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and organic, this 100% natural flavour enhancer makes a delicious alternative to salt and can complement everything from steaks to cakes.

In this trio of test tubes you’ll find Dulse: a dusky pink seaweed that will add smokiness to vegetables and burgers; Kombu: a smooth-tasting brown seaweed great for stocks or deepening the flavour of stews; and Shony: a blend of sweet and salty seaweeds, delicious in baking or sprinkled over eggs and pasta.
