Finished in this stylish shade of grey, our 26cm Grey Ombre Shallow Cast Iron Casserole Dish is perfect for both cooking and serving, with large handles making it easy to take straight from the oven or stove to the centre of your dining room table.
Renowned for its incredible heat retention, even heat distribution and durability, cast iron has been used for cooking for more than 2000 years. Our enamel-coated shallow casserole dish is ideal for cooking curries, pasta, desserts and lots more besides – we’ve even cooked bread in it. And we’ve also included a few other features in the range as a whole that we think give it the edge over other brands.

Cast iron cookware is built to last. That’s why lots of us will probably have one or two pieces in our kitchens that have been passed down through the years. So when we set about developing our own cast iron range, we listened to what you told us. The result is this beautiful range that performs exceptionally well and includes some of the features you felt were missing from other cookware you can buy. There’s no getting round the fact that cast iron is heavy, so we’ve given these enamel-coated pieces large, curved carry handles that you can get your hands comfortably and safely under, even when wearing oven gloves, making each piece much easier to get in and out of the oven or take to the table for serving. We’ve also included a bigger than usual knob on top for ease of use and, to avoid the food traps that can make them difficult to clean, the lids have no screw underneath.
Offering superb heat retention and even distribution, cast iron is suitable for all kinds of cooking in the oven up to 260°C and on all hobs, including induction – and you can even bake bread in the casserole dishes.

Superb product - I use it almost everyday, both on the hob and in the oven. Heat distribution is perfect and cleans so easily. May I suggest a half size shallow casserole for those days when you want to cook smaller amounts.

Yes I quite agree with the last review. I use mine nearly every day and prefer it to any of my pans. Certainly a smaller version, say 20cm and shallow, would have me rushing to the shops.
I've wanted on of these shallow enamelled cast iron casserole dishes for ages, and when I saw this at a very reasonable price, and at the size I needed to go in my combi oven, I went for it. I've used it a few times, very pleased with heat conduction and retention, lovely surface. Just have to make sure Bloke doesn't use any metal tools in it. Would recommend.
Lakeland have been very good at replacing these and I am now on my third one. However, the enamel has chipped on each one. The latest one has only been used twice and has been hand washed both times. There is a big chip on the handle and the base. I am still using it and it is a useful size but I am disappointed in the quality.
