Hand-Held Spiralizer

Product number: 71043

Spiralizers come in all shapes and sizes, and this is a great solution if you’re a convert to curly veg but short on storage space. Working on the same principle as a pencil sharpener, its extremely sharp stainless steel blades shave short spirals from carrots, courgettes and cucumbers. The slim design fits easily into a drawer and it comes with a hanging loop too.

"Not quite up to par"

star star star_border star_border star_border

I purchased this to save space in my cupboards. Yes it works however you soon find your wrist hurts from the press you have to apply plus its impossible to curl the last 3rd as you can't get your hand around the vegetable to turn it so a waste of food. Based on this I have returned it and replaced it with the larger one

"Didn't live up to expectation."

Wanted to try the new spiralizing craze and didn't have the space for the larger version so bought this. Tried carrot, butternut squash and courgettes. Too much force is needed to keep the pressure on for 'kept together' spirals, so much so that I ended up taking the skin off my knuckles on the sharp blade strip. Returned to store... Over 28 days later and received a full refund, no bother. Been put off trying other models.

"Ouch!"

I bought this a while ago, choosing this one over the others because I had seen Mary Berry using it. I have yet to use it without shredding my fingers too. Several teatowels have also been shreaded trying to dry the thing. It is pretty lethal and is going in the bin. Sorry, Lakeland!

"Hand Held Spiralizer"

Had a demo from the shop assistant, and spiralizer appeared easy to use and just the right size for me a pensioner living on her own. Used today absolute nightmare, wondered if I wasn't using it right but no instructions in box. Ended up shredding carrots and courgettes manually.Very disappointed as I've been looking for one for ages even looking at the Ideal Home at different ones, saw this in Lakeland on a day trip to Salisbury and thought I'd found the perfect one. Absolute waste of money, if I lived near enough to a Lakeland I would return it.

We're sorry to hear you've been disappointed with this product. The trick is to stand the vegetable upright so that end sits in the well above the little hole. Then turn the vegetable continuously, like a pencil sharpener.Try to avoid slanting the vegetable, as this will make chucks and clog the blade. You'll soon be creating spaghetti strands. We'll be in touch soon to guide you through this process.

NAFF ... Don't waste even this little amount of money on it. For a 'hand held' model, try the Oxo one - it's certainly better (especially a better shape) and still really compact.
