"Nifty little product" star star star star star Could not wait to use it and when I did was not disappointed.Did chips which was easy, washed it was a bit worried about the blades but needn't have been. Have used it to chop fruit for my fruit pot very quick, and was a nice size. It was easy to store and a nice colour.
"Great for softer veg too" star star star star star Having had 2 other choppers, one of which my husband broke by pushing down too hard on a swede, the other got blunt very quickly (French supermarket version) my experience is that they are best for very crisp onions, potatoes, and soft veg like courgettes, and mushrooms. A decent sharp knife is best (one from Lakelands, of course!) for other root veg, eg parsnip, carrot batons, or "sleepy" onions. but enough mushrooms and onion for soup for 4 can be made in no time with this. Pears are good in the apple section, too. Very pleased with it!
"Much used and very appreciated, but not perfect" star star star star star_border A handy gadget that makes short work of dicing and slicing fruit and vegetables, giving a uniformity to the food that would be rather time consuming if one were to hope to achieve such results by hand. Cleaning can be problematic: not only because of the sharpness of the cutting blades, but because the lid, plungers and containers all have what appear to be superfluous ridges and ledges within that make hand washing a most arduous task. Care must also be taken to insert the blades correctly or cutting will be unsuccessful. Saying that, there is writing on the outer plastic edge of the blades that warn that the sharp edges are facing you. However, this is in the same moulded plastic as the outer protective edge of the blades and for those that have any difficulties with sight, the only way of knowing if they are fitted correctly is to try. If the writing could be made to stand out a little more, this may be avoided. Nonetheless, for me, this chopper has become a much used product.
"Great little gadget" star star star star star_border Ideal little chopper, useful for small quantities. Apple corner and slicer as good as using separate ones, as I have trouble keeping up the pressure, this one is a lot easier. A couple more different blades would have made it even better. support_agent A note from the team Thank you for your review and we've passed your comments on to our buyers.
"Make sure you insert blades right way up" star star star star star_border I mistakenly tried to use this with the blade the wrong way and it didn't work. Now they are inserted correctly this works quite well. Don't try to chop carrots vertically as they stick irretrievably to the blades. Cutting horizontally is fine. This will save me a lot of time on soups, salads and one pot dishes. I have asked Lakeland to put a warning sticker on re the blades issue as I hear lots of us made this error.
