Absorb Bin Biodegradable Kitchen Fat Trapper - Large

Product number: 71003

No more pouring cooking oil and fat down the sink! Absorb Bin eliminates the risk of blocked drains by providing a quick, easy, trouble-free way to dispose of fatty kitchen waste – and its sleek, modern design means it will look good on your kitchen work surface too. Just place a fat trapper into Absorb Bin and pour any cooking oil and fat into the centre to help it disperse quickly and evenly. The super absorbent material soaks it up in minutes and, even used every day, it will last about a week before it gets saturated (fat trapper may require changing more often than this in warm weather). Once the fat trapper’s work is done, it can be removed, popped straight into your bin and replaced. No mess, no fuss – and no more blocked drains. Fat trappers sold separately.

Large Absorb Bin will accept approx. 280ml of oil or fat.

"My bio kitchen fat trapper"

star star star star star

I love this bin, no more wondering what to do with left over oil. Not wanting to throw it down the sink to block the drain. I’m very happy every home should have one. It also looks nice on the kitchen counter.

"I am very upset"

I used this product and followed the instructions and the oil leaked through to the bottom of the bin. It was only a few tablespoons of oil. I am really upset about this as it is not cheap.

support_agent A note from the team

We’re very sorry to hear the fat trapper is faulty and will be in touch shortly to get this sorted for you

"So disappointing"

star star star_border star_border star_border

Like other reviewers I was so pleased to see this product as we wanted to avoid fat going into the drains. The fat unfortunately soaks through the inner cardboard filter. I guess I cook with olive oil so I don’t get solid fat. The second problem is that mould develops in warm weather and creates smells. The refills are expensive and like someone else has noted using kitchen roll is more economical.

support_agent A note from the team

They are best used by allowing the oil to cool, then pour slowly into the middle section of the insert. However we’re very sorry to hear this and will be in touch shortly

"Average"

star star star star_border star_border

I was a bit disappointed in this. We have 3 diabetics in this house and have to keep fat down to a minimum so I thought this would be ideal. In the beginning it wan't bad and I thought that it would take 2 or 3 fill ups. However, after a couple of days it went mouldy so had to throw away and fill with a new trap. I thought that this would save on the kitchen roll we use in this house but I can't see the monetary saving at this point. Also it only traps the fat and any meat jelly goes straight through and sits in the bottom - lovely mess to clean out.

"Looks nice but not much use."

This is a good idea in principle but not great in practice as fats and oils tend to go straight through the liner. Fats usually solidify but not always so there is still a clean up problem
