Morphy Richards 4.5L Sear and Stew Slow Cooker 460751

Product number: 70968

With all the convenience of one-pot cooking, the Morphy Richards Sear and Stew Slow Cooker is ideal for cooking up hearty one-pot meals without mountains of washing up to do afterwards. With easy to use controls for adjusting the temperature of the heating plate, this compact slow cooker is also designed to be easy to store when not in use.

Sear, Stew, and Serve

For the ultimate one-pot cooking experience, this slow cooker lets you sear off your meat in the same pan before letting it stew. The generous 4.5 litre pot can be used directly on the hob to sear your meat then returned to the base where you can add the rest of your ingredients and select one of the low, medium or high settings to have your food ready when you are. There is also a glass lid to let you see inside as your food stews away.

Easy Cleaning

With a non-stick interior, not only is the bowl designed to ensure no food sticks, but also for quick and easy cleaning when you’ve finished. Simply wash the bowl and lid in warm, soapy water and it will be ready to go again whenever you need it.

Convenient Storage

When you’ve finished cooking, the base sits neatly inside the bowl for convenient storage that is not going to eat up all of your cupboard space. The power cord also stores neatly in the base unit for added convenience and protection.

Please note: the bowl is not suitable for induction hobs.

"Morphy Richards sear and stew compact."

star star star star star

Got this item as my last one I had for over 10years went to sleep. It works just as well as my last one. I am absolutely delighted with my purchase. Would definitely recommend .

"So far so good"

star star star star star

Bought this to replace a 30 year old one by Morphy Richards ,have not used much yet as its summer .But it was very efficient when I did. I bought one for my daughter for Christmas , she is very very happy with hers, so I decided to buy the same . If mine lasts as long as the old one I shall be very happy as well.

"Disappointed! Cooks too fast for Slow Cooking."

star star star_border star_border star_border

I was tempted to buy this whilst shopping in store to replace my large Morphy Richards slow cooker. However, I have now used it three times, and the first two meals were BURNT. I was at home to watch over the third attempt and it was continually bubbling at quite a fast speed! The LOW setting is MUCH too HOT for slow cooking. It is definitely not suitable for LONG, SLOW COOKING. Having said that, If you just wish to use it as a 'Cook Pot', or you're around to check the progress of the dish, then it would be fine. Easy to clean and store BUT remember, everything needs a MUCH shorter cooking time!

Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback. I'm sorry that it hadn't worked as well as expected, I'll be in touch shortly.

"Not a SLOW cooker, NOT safe for searing meat"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

Bought 2 to replace mine and my mum's old slow cookers. Temp on LOW had stews semi-boiling, not the slow bubbles you want with a slow 6-8 hour slow cook. Sear function is actually dangerous as the thin metal base and 'chimney' shape pan has oil exploding out over you and kitchen, Vesuvius-style. We followed instruction manual carefully, so it is a design/quality fault. A shame, as looks great and is easier to handle. Thank goodness Lakeland has such a great returns policy. Both have been returned, but I would urge Lakeland to revise its description and use.

Thanks for the feedback and taking the time to speak to me, I'm glad the store we're able to put things right when you returned them. We've spoken to our supplier and they've given us the following feedback to help others - Pat dry the meat and sear in small batches. Depending on the recipe being cooked (high liquid content) the ingredients can begin to 'bubble'. This is not necessarily boiling throughout the mixture, but boiling bubbles from the base of the pan (where it is the hottest) escaping to the surface. This of course can cause spitting, if the lid is removed. I hope you find a suitable alternative.

"NOT GOOD !"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

The worse slow cooker imaginable. One star for the look and design. As for its use, it cooks far too fast on 'low' and boils profusely. Tried a stew, left it for 8 hours on low - wrong! It had stuck to the bottom and some of the veg had gone to mash and the meat that was stuck was black. Returned it to the shop and explained, but being Lakeland, not a problem and they refunded my money. Sorry Lakeland, you need to contact Morphy Richards on this one !!

Thank you for placing your review. We're sorry the cooker didn't suit and pleased the staff in store were able to help. Food may overcook if the pot isn't more than half full or too hot after searing.
