Heard about this from one of my friends (also on a diet!) makes really easy courgette spaghetti, which tastes delicious and low calorie. Really easy to use and really makes food prep fun, my sons even want to get involved! Worth every penny
Bought this little gadget in Windsor store - very helpful assistant too. I have just started the 8 week diet (hoping to reverse my Type 2 diabetes) and found that spiralizing certain veg replaces pasta. Tried a courgette first and made wonderful courgetti! Next tried a carrot and looking to try parsnips and beetroot. Really pleased with my new gadget, as it works and is dishwasher safe. Thank you Lakeland!
I did a bit of research into small spiralizers and I was even able to try one in a shop first. I chose this one as the other small ones seemed to make thin ragged courgette ribbons that looked like they would disintegrate. I definitely wanted a rounded noodle shape. I tried it as soon as I got home. I stir-fried my courgetti in a little oil with salt, garlic granules and a bit of sesame oil. Delicious! I would highly recommend this model! It cleans easily, and is compact. One word of advice - for carrots, choose really fat ones not skinny ones, as you'll end up with little carrot half moons!
I bought the Spirelli spiralizer first, but didn't get on with it at all. I took it back and the assistant at the till persuaded me to try this one (which I had considered originally), and I love it. Yes, as some reviewers say, you have to be careful with positioning the vegetables centrally, but otherwise, it's easy to use, easy to clean - all very typical of Oxo Good Grips products actually - and I use it once a week or more. I recommend it if you want to give this a go. It is tiring on the hands after a bit but for a couple of veg it's great.
I chose this item because it is small and compact (despite the many negative reviews) - I think it is fabulous! So easy to use; so easy to wash; so easy to store - I really don't know what all the negative fuss is about.
