From soft pastels to vibrant brights – thanks to the wizards at Wilton, and their ingenious Colour Right Food Colouring System, creating a whole rainbow of icing or cake batter colours is now quick, easy and repeatable.
Consistent Results
With their innovative Colour Right System, Wilton have taken the guesswork out of mixing icing colours. The included Colour Formula Chart tells you exactly how many drops from each bottle you'll need. With specially designed, easy-to-control squeeze bottles, getting the exact number of drops is easy. Whether it is red, blue, violet or green, you can be certain you get just the shade you're looking for.
Follow the instructions to ensure you release exactly the same amount each time and you'll be rewarded with identical results – the perfect solution should you run out of mixture or want to recreate a specific design. As well as using Wilton's pre-formulated colours, you can create your own shades and record them for future use.
Ultra-Concentrated Liquid Gel
Unlike traditional food colouring, which may require hundreds of drops to achieve certain colours, the Colour Right System uses ultra-concentrated, liquid gels to deliver rich colour, so you only need a few drops and the consistency of your icing stays the same.
And if you want a bespoke colour that's not featured on the chart, there are also tips to help you make and record the perfect shade.
The Colour Formula Chart is based on 500g of icing or cake mix. The set includes 19ml each of ivory, yellow, orange, crimson, red, pink, blue and brown food colours.

Having such fun with these. Have already baked a rainbow birthday cake. You can achieve so many different colours with them. Just take care when mixing colours. Did find didn’t need as much as indicated on the instructions. The cake recipes on the Lakeland site very useful as well.

Easy to use with excellent results every time.
Only 8 colours but the ability to make a whole artists palette is possible and a great colour chart is provided with numbers of drops required.
I’ve only used it the once so far, but it was great. I’ve used another brand of Gels for years and was a bit sceptical but having read other reviews I thought I’d give it a try. Even though it is a liquid it didn’t make the sugarpaste too wet (which was my concern from using ordinary food colouring liquids in the past), also less messy as it drips out slowly. I will certainly be recommending these to others friends who love cake decorating!
