Lakeland 1.7L Stainless Steel Jug Kettle

For the price, the kettle looks good, nice blue light when turned on and boils reasonably quickly. Pours well and easy to fill. However, it is impossible to see how much water is in the kettle not just because the indicator is hidden by the handle but because you can't see the water level through the plastic gauge. This is a very basic design error; don't these products get tested? Unfortunately, therefore, it's a disappointing purchase.

Very disappointed with this kettle. It looks good, but is very noisy with loud crackles when boiling. Gauge hard to read because hidden by handle. Difficult to put in minimum amount of water, and takes much longer to boil than expected. There should also be a warning on the box that the outside gets very hot, and therefore is potentially dangerous. Have used it for a week, and nearly burned myself twice. Not the quality I expect from Lakeland.

I totally agree with previous review. I wish I had looked at the reviews before I bought it. It makes a horrible noise and takes a long time to boil and you cant see the water level because it is hidden behind the handle.

I had to take the kettle back as the lid opened up mid boil....then the kettle wouldn't stop boiling!! Also, impossible to read the water level... Really disappointed.
