To compare products and support bricks-and-mortar shopping, I bought mine from my local Lakeland store, not online. Better even than I expected. - Superb looks, great ease of use, neat stowage. - Food holder suits my hand and grips a good variety of vegetables - endways or sideways. Maybe not things like pointy peppers, but I can do those 'by hand' - with great care. - Slices are even as long as I concentrate, though hard raw beetroot needs care. - Some wastage is inevitable but lessens greatly with practice. - I concede staining may become a problem - shame with such a good-looking tool

I bought this principally for the julienne blade, but find the food holder is so poorly designed it cannot grip most vegetables. Its awkward to use and without the holder, dangerous. Though the blades are sharp, it's necessary to master a very fast slicing action, (without the protective holder), to prevent the slices becoming uneven and mangled. Lots of wastage results and in addition the white plastic is badly and permanently stained from carrot, peppers etc.
