"EXCELLENT ITEM"

star star star star star

This croissant maker is MUCH better than I thought. To those who complained about it in the other reviews. I will say that you have to know HOW to use this item correctly and when you do, the finishing results are fantastic. I have received rave reviews how professional and neat my croissants look. Many people were convinced they were bought and not home-made. You have to press down firmly and you get 16 well cut pieces.. The only place you have to trim, is on the exterior rim around the croissant maker. I have used other types of croissant cutters in the past, this is a CUT above the rest.

"Not as useful as I hoped."

Can't complain at this sale price, but I found this to be less than useful. It cuts dough into very narrow shapes, which roll up into what look more like buns than croissants, very fat in proportion to width, certainly not at all like the ones in the picture. Division into 8 rather than 16 would have been better, then it could also be used for marking out pizza. No recipe or instructions was included. A simple triangular cutter the right size and shape for a proper croissant would be much more useful and take up less storage space. Please, Lakeland?

Thanks for the feedback and taking the time to speak to me on the phone. I'll pass your suggestion for a triangular metal croissant cutter to our buying team for the future.

"A good idea, but not quite there"

star star star_border star_border star_border

I managed to make one decent size croissant out of two segments. Who eats miniature croissants? I'm making sourdough croissants which might be a bit different. So it doesn't cut all the way round, but it does mark out uniform segments, which would be fine if they were bigger. Not sure about the fillings bit. Could get messy! I prefer mine plain anyway, or add the filling after cooking. I'm hoping to get a roller cutter too, but expect that might be too small as well. £6.49 is tops for a plastic disc , but at £20 I'd expect something a lot better thought out and considerably better made.

"Great expectations"

I received this in my order yesterday and couldn't wait to try it. Unfortunately it doesn't live up to expectations. This 'almost ' cuts only 8 croissants - these 8 still need to be cut where the template mould has gaps, the other 8 croissants need to be completely cut around the base as there is no cutting edge. I used a pizza cutter to complete the shaping. Good idea but poorly executed. 1 star for the hinged construction but 0 for using template
