"Flan tin" star star star star star It is great. Exactly what it should be. I have used it several times and nothing has stuck.
"Loose based flan tin" star star star star star I bought this tin as I already had the 26in tin but needed a smaller one to make a bakewell tart. The tins are amazing! I have nearly every one from the range. They are a good weight and disperse the heat really well so there are never 'soggy bottoms'. They do not stick, if you're worried about anything sticking a tiny drop of cake release can be used but it is not necessary. The tins also stack together nicely to save space.
"Doesn't work" star star star star_border star_border This flan tin is very stylish to look at, but try to get a straight edge is impossible. The handles get in the way of cutting a straight line. This was purchased for a Women's Institute competition flan, so I really needed the cutting to be perfect. The plus side was that the pastry cooked perfectly crisp and came out if the tin easily. If you don't want perfection, then this tin is fine.
"Excellent Quality" star star star star star As always excellent quality tins from Lakeland. Highly recommend.
"Not keen on the flat top" star star star_border star_border star_border I bought a couple of these (using the buy one, get one half price deal) from the Reading Lakeland to do some pastry recipes. I'm not keen on the handles...while they are handy for getting the tin in and out of the oven, they make trimming the top edge of the pastry very hard (if you are cutting the pastry raw there is no sharp edge, and trimming post-baking the handles get in the way of the knife handle). It's a shame, as otherwise these are high quality tins, but a bit of a case of design over function I think...
