Give your home-baked bread and pizza the professional touch with this Rectangular Baking Stone which will help turn any standard oven into a pizza oven, so you can make authentic Italian-style home-made pizzas, pastries and rustic breads without the expense of building an outdoor oven in your garden. Made from stoneware, it conducts heat evenly across its whole surface and cooks all sorts of things brilliantly – we’ve even included a non-pizza recipe to inspire you...

How to use

Place the stone directly onto a shelf in the middle of a cold oven and heat to 230°C. Once the oven reaches temperature your Pizza Stone is ready for action, and able to cook pizza after pizza at speed. The most efficient way to cook your pizzas is to assemble them first and use a pizza peel in true pizzeria fashion to place it onto the hot stone. Taking just minutes to cook, use the paddle-shaped peel to lift the pizza off the stone and then place the next one to keep the production line going – and your guests well fed.

If you’re going to take the hot stone platter out of the oven to serve what you’ve cooked please ensure that the metal rack is positioned on heat-resistant mats before you place the stone onto it. The metal rack is only suitable for use as a trivet.

Pizza with a professional touch

Every time you use this traditional pizza stone it absorbs excess moisture from the dough or pastry you cook – building a patina over time that will demonstrate its authenticity. Because you preheat it, the cooking process starts immediately food is placed upon it – just like in the stone-built pizza ovens of traditional Italian restaurants – so it will create a deliciously light and crispy crust every time.

Great for breads and pastries

Not just for pizza, you can use your pizza stone for baking rustic breads, scones, biscuits, cookies and pastries… There’ll be no risk of a soggy-bottomed tart, and things cook faster than on a standard baking tray, because the radiant heat of the stone cooks from underneath from the moment an item is placed upon it.

Please note : the pizza stone must be cool before you wash it and should be washed with hot water only. Do not use soap or detergent and do not submerge or soak the stone.

Bakes the best bread, crusty on the outside and soft in the middle, for the best roast potatoes put the roasting tin on the stone and perfect potatoes every time, i leave my stone in the oven even if I’m not using it to cook on and it seems to conduct the heat evenly around the oven, a real good buy

"Too wide for an Aga Range Cooker Oven"

Made this purchase based on 5 star review dated 4 May 2019 which suggested the item fitted an Aga oven. This is not the case. When measured, the dimensions of the stone are exactly as advertised and will not fit inside an Aga. The problem isn't due to Lakeland but poor advice from a contributing customer.

I used the stone just recently to make a home made pizza. The stone was hot when I put my home made pizza base on it, and it started to bake the base straight away before I even put it in the oven, so I had a really nice crispy base even before I put my topping on. Once cooked the pizza came off the base so easily, no sticking at all. Nice crunchy edge too. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking to use for much more home baking, not just pizza, bread and cakes too.
