"No longer as shown"
The picture shows the "old supply" which came from timber mill offcuts and burned really well in the Karu. The "new supply" is cut down splits from logs. This is uneven, comes with bark and is less dense, which means less weight of wood in the bag. Very expensive for what it is - this was a 5* product - not any longer.
support_agent A note from the team
Thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear of your disappointment but pleased we were able to arrange a full refund. Our supplier has been in touch to say : he source of the wood has changed, but the type of wood and nature, no. We are still using sawmill waste, and it is still 100% Oak Kindling. The only difference, is the type of waste. Before we used splines, that were sawn into lengths. Now, we use sawmill offcuts from sawmilling, which are then processed in a kindling machine. As mentioned above, the wood species is the same. Therefore density is the same, and weight. Burn quality, and efficiency is also the same. The only difference between the newer material and before is the wood is a little less straight. Something that we have recently implemented is this disclaimer: “Wood is a natural product that comes in varying shapes and sizes. What you receive may differ from the images shown on the page, but they will fit and fire the ovens regardless.”
