My husband is 65 and has been able to make 2 friut cages with these and wants more..He has used metal poles to connect not bamboo canes,

I am now on my third order of these very handy balls, I am 70 yrs of age have arthritic hands. They are very easy to use and as there are several different sized holes around the ball it is easy to find one that fits your cane/pole/dowel correctly. Then just locate, make up your frame and throw over your net. They have been ideal for temporary strawberry cover each year.

These are great!!! My hubby asked me to order one set to try on his allotment and they've been Fab!!! His cabbages and sprouts are looking fantastic and he's asked me to order another two sets for him. Well Done!!

I think these are a great idea although I put mine together with bamboo canes and as they differ in thickness, some where too wide for the holes and others too thin and just kept sliding out. I found them easy to put together and built 2 cages for my 2 large vegetable patches in just 15 minutes. I think with metal poles to the exact diameter of the holes would make the cages sturdier but as I already had the bamboo from last season, they will do.

Thought this would be a great idea but was very disappointed. My canes do not fit them very well ( they are ok one end but not the other as my canes get thinner one end) and so I would have to chop them in order to make them fit. This is too much effort. They maybe ok with other types of tubing.
