Who doesn’t love a generous knob of butter spread onto their bread or toasted crumpet or melted into their jacket potato? Unfortunately, the packaging tears easily, tends to gather crumbs, and doesn’t look great on the table. Luckily, we have a good old-fashioned answer to the problem, in the shape of this gorgeous white butter dish, which is made from durable porcelain to stand up to many a family breakfast.
It’s been designed to hold a standard 250g block perfectly, while the ridges in the dish ensure the lid won’t go slipping out of place when you’re transporting it to the dining table.

really good quality for the price, just as good as ones costing twice as much. perfect size for a standard slab of butter. cover sits nicely on the base. really pleased, thankyou lakeland

The description says ridged to keep the lid in place, but sadly not ridged enough to keep the butter in place which slides around as one trys to get a spread on a knife. Bought two but sadly will need to return when able to visit the shop. Will probably buy the Insulated butter dish which we had before and contains the butter well. however these are expensive, when you want two!

It is a good solid butter dish. The problem lies in the word "solid". It is just too bulky and heavy to use without the risk of dropping it with my arthritic hands. I shall be passing it on as a gift to someone who has a stronger grip then me.
