The Fine Cheese Co. Dottato Figs for Cheese
Product number: 63024
Add a little something special to your cheeseboard with these delicious Dottago Figs for Cheese. Grown in Calabria, southern Italy, only the finest figs are selected and then oven-baked for up to 12 hours, resulting in a luxuriously rich, molasses-like taste, with a liquorice-like intensity. Then the figs are rolled into balls and hand-wrapped in fig leaves, ready for you to unravel and festoon over your cheeseboard, pairing particularly well with Pecorino, Gorgonzola and soft cheeses. Mmmm, our mouths are watering just thinking about it…
Beautifully presented, they make a lovely addition to a foodie hamper or a stocking filler for cheese lovers.

The slow baking really shrinks the figs into sticky, moreish fruity delights. The vine leaves can be a little over dry so make it a bit more difficult to get the figs out cleanly but it’s worth the effort. I have never eaten with cheese. I prefer them to chocolate! Okay only at certain times!
