Not too hot, not too cold, but just right
When it comes to making the perfect cup of green, white or oolong tea, you don’t want the water to be too hot – that can scald the leaves and make your tea taste bitter or astringent – while water that’s not hot enough won’t bring out the full flavour. And no discerning coffee-lover would ever pour boiling water straight into a cafetière: that’s the best way to release bitter oils from grounds and make your coffee taste burned.
A setting for every kind of brew
With one-touch settings on the base’s touchscreen panel for 60°C (high-grade green tea), 80°C (most other green and white teas), 90°C (oolong tea and coffee) and 100°C (black and herbal teas), there’s a temperature to make all your brews taste just right: not too bitter, not too weak. And the automatic keep-warm function keeps the water at your selected temperature (apart from boiling – nobody wants a kitchen that steamy!) for up to 40 minutes.
