Our Food Buying Team certainly came up trumps when they chose this delicious Steak Sauce – it’s scrumptious hot and cold, tastes great with almost anything – not just steak – and is made for us in Cumbria.

Tomato-based with subtle hints of tamarind and horseradish, it has a lip-smacking tangy hit that’s sure to have you reaching for more. Use it as a marinade for veggies, chicken and pork as well as steak – it’s ideal for stir-fries and barbecues. Dip chips and potato wedges into a splodge on your plate or spoon it onto burgers or sausages to transform them from ordinary to out of this world.

Made for Lakeland by The Hawkshead Relish Company

Speciality producers of award-winning preserves handmade in the English Lake District, the team at Hawkshead Relish started as café owners but discovered that customers wanted to be able to take a jar of their delicious home-made condiments home, as a souvenir of a memorable meal in Hawkshead. Having started in 2001 with three products, they now offer well over 100 and are always inventing more… production has moved to a 16th century barn just outside the village and our Food Buying Team just love going to visit to try out new flavours…

"Nom nom nom"

Now I have to be honest, I am struggling with how to write a review of a food product (I’m more a gadget person). But what I can say, is its very tasty, we’ve used on some veggie burgers instead of the normal burger sauce, it gave them a really unique taste with a slight tang (I’m sure I’m not explaining this well). Suffice to say we liked it and would certainly buy this in the future. You can use it for all sorts, I think next time we’ll try it in a stir-fry to add some flavour.

"Tasty authentic sauce"

Really enjoyed this sauce with our steaks for tea last night. There is more then enough for you to use as a marinade on two steaks and the flavour really enhances the steak when cooked. Just the right amount of sauce for my husband and I.
