"Disappointing" star star_border star_border star_border star_border Followed instructions to the letter. When that didn't work I tried adjusting the quantities but still the rice comes out in unappetising lumps. Porridge regularly boils over despite rinsing thoroughly and filling below the Max level. All in all not very useful and disappointing for a Lakeland product. support_agent A note from the team We're sorry you found this. We'd advise to rinse the rice before use as this will stop it sticking together. It can take a bit of trial and error.
"Lakeland Mini Rice Cooker" star star star star star_border Bought to replace an old electric rice cooker for one, when my wife is away, and two when she is at home. Used once, so far. It worked well, producing a nicely cooked portion of basmati rice for one. I would have given it 5 stars but knocked one off because the instruction booklet, while it states that the internal steam vent can be removed for cleaning, doesn’t explain how? I am reluctant to simply pull the rubber knob off the spindle in case this is incorrect and results in damage. So, Lakeland, how is the steam vent removed for cleaning? support_agent A note from the team We can advise to tug on the little grey toggle to pull out the metal steam vent. The small black vent inside the outer lid does not come off.
"Perfect rice every time!" star star star star star I read every single review before purchasing and it seems that Lakeland have ironed out all the problems noted in older reviews. It is really simple to use and I have used it for both white and brown basmati rice (Tilda), also one and two portions. Remember, 1/2 cup of rice to one cup of water, and 1 cup of rice to two cups of water! I rinse the rice thoroughly through a sieve before adding to the cooker and it always comes out perfectly cooked. Both 1 and 2 portions take 30 minutes to cook and the timer will show 6 minutes left towards the end. Everything, including the lid is easily cleaned!
"Perfect for 1-2 person rice cooking" star star star star star If you often need to cook rice for 1-2 people, this little rice cooker is ideal. Far superior for the task than bigger rice cookers that simply aren't good at cooking small batches of rice. The Lakeland Mini Electric Rice Cooker has a lot going for it. It is perfectly sized for small batches (1/2-1 cup dry rice). It is easy to clean. It's easy to keep clean. It comes with everything you need. It's also small enough to find a place to store it when not in use. It also makes rice that's *perfect* for my application. Not soggy, not clumpy. Fluffy and delicious if you follow directions.
"Great little rice cooker." star star star star star I thought that this was useless at first try outs as it wouldn’t go into countdown mode and finish. After persevering with it it started doing so and after using many times now it has never let me down. I now use it a lot and couldn’t do without it. Would definitely buy it again.
