Lakeland 2 Portion Mini Electric Rice Cooker

Product number: 62569

How many times have you cooked rice for six, when there were only two mouths to feed? Or ended up with something that resembles rice pudding rather than light, fluffy grains? It can be so tricky to get rice just right, but this little electric rice cooker for two makes it effortless every time.

What’s in the box?

  • Rice cooker
  • 200ml measuring cup
  • Serving spoon

Cooks perfect rice…

... without you having to watch over the pan. Or without having to work out the rice to water ratio. Just use the included cup to measure your ingredients – 1 cup of white rice and one cup of water will feed two – pop on the lid and press the rice button... and leave it to work. You’ve just ended all of your rice-cooking complications!

Makes creamy porridge too

The trouble with making porridge in a pan is that it needs constant stirring and attention to be sure it doesn’t spit or catch on the bottom – but once you’ve added porridge oats and milk or water, this handy little cooker does everything for you, counting down from 60 minutes while you get dressed and ready for the day ahead.

Or if you use the delay time feature, you can wake up to a delicious, ready-to-eat, Goldilocks-approved breakfast. If you happen to oversleep, the keep-warm function will make sure it’s still ‘just right’ when you get up.

Just right for one or two

Really compact and convenient, it makes 1-2 portions of fluffy rice and takes up less space than some small pans. And when all your hob rings are occupied with a main course and veg, it’ll sit on your worktop, quietly taking care of your side dish.

Easy to use

Just add your grains and the recommended amount of water, then press the rice or porridge button for simple one-touch cooking. There’s a clear LED timer display, and a beep will sound to let you know when your food’s ready. If you’re not quite ready to eat, the automatic keep-warm function will maintain the perfect temperature to ensure your food stays hot and ready to serve (for up to 12 hours), and the cord is removable so you can carry the cooker to the table.

"Great porridge and rice"

star star star star star

Have done several batches of rice all successfully, and made porridge for the first time today, it was lovely. I do like this machine very much, the old rice cooker took up half a workspace but this is tiny and works really well for two of us.

"Mini Rice cooker"

star star star star star_border

Recently bought to save time and stuck rice in pans. The cooker is small and handy for storage. Used now twice for rice only and found the rice perfect. No stuck bottoms. Easy to wash and had to read over reviews on how to clean steam extractor. Faults only on design. Improvement ? Slight redesign on having handle or something to lift very hot rice pan. Better instruction on release for cleaning steam extractor. Other reviews have stated this, but overall very happy with the product. Haven’t tried porridge so no review for that

"One of our kitchen staples"

star star star star star

We bought this rice cooker approx. 10 months ago and what a little gem this has been. Perfect results every time. We wash the rice prior in luke warm water through a sieve, and by adding 1 large measure of rice to 2 measures of cold water will make enough for 2 large portions or 4 sides. It just takes 30 minutes and has the keep warm function till the rest of your meal is ready to serve. It's very easy to clean just remove the grey stopper thats underneath the lid and you can clean the silver disc and the vented lid. The rice pot is also dishwasher proof although I like to do mine by hand.

"Brilliant little rice cooker"

This is a brilliant rice cooker which I use a lot. It's so easy to use and cooks rice beautifully. Very easy to clean with it's non-stick pan which goes in the dishwasher. It has some lovely features including a carrying handle and a plug-in power lead so that you can take it to the table, and allows the whole thing to be stored away with the measuring cup and power lead coiled up (carefully) inside - great convenience features. Do watch out for the steam vent when it's cooking though. So glad I bought it (about a year ago). Cooking rice for one or two is so simple and straightforward.

"Better rice quicker"

star star star star star

So why did I buy a rice cooker when I can make consistency good rice already? It's because my method takes 90 mins and the rice cooker does it in approximately 30 mins. 90g of Tilda rice to 135ml of water gave me perfect results. Two tips. 1. Soaking the rice in a sieve over a bowl under gently running water for a few minutes makes a big difference. 2. Put the drained rice into the cooker first and gently add the water without stirring to get much better results. So now I have even better rice quicker.
