Nothing is better than making your own bread at home and thanks to this Sourdough Bread Mix from Carr’s, making your own delicious sourdough bread couldn’t be easier.
Sourdough is a fermented product, made using a live culture of probiotics – bacteria that benefit your gut – and is lower in sugar and higher in protein than other breads. Normal sourdough recipes require a starter, but this premium white bread mix has a dried rye sourdough culture inside, allowing you to make delicious light sourdough bread in a bread machine without the need for a high-maintenance sourdough starter.
Carr’s 170 years of bread-making experience has gone into these mixes, and the proof is in the full flavour and wonderful, light texture that's easily achieved – not to mention the numerous compliments they've received from celebrated cooks.
Each mix contains the exact amount to bake a 1lb (454g) loaf, and we're pleased to say they're made in Silloth, here in Cumbria.

This is a bread mix I reach for when I’m too busy to load my breadmaker from scratch. It’s fast, convenient and makes a delicious loaf that lasts well too. It’s particularly good toasted and with jam on!

So much easier to use than faffing about with a sourdough starter, and the resulting loaf is lovely. Pop it in the bread machine and tasty bread emerges 4 hours later.
I love freshly baked bread and as I only do one big shop per week I used to buy bread and it keep it in the freezer. Then I discovered this amazing bread mix. Now I can have freshly baked bread every day. It is so easy to make. In stuctions on packet are easy to follow. If you like fresh bread I fully recommend this product.

I use this to make a white seeded loaf using my Panasonic bread maker. It bakes an absolutely unbelievable loaf. No yeast sugar and salt need to be added. It really is a fantastic flour.
