Super smart, this Prism UV Flycatcher from the experts at Insect-O-Cutor is a brilliant way to get rid of flies without using noxious chemicals or making an unhygienic mess by swatting them. Suitable for use in any room, its discreet good looks don’t draw undue attention, and its blue-tinted UV light has a magnetic attraction for flies, who can’t resist its lure as it shines through the front, sides and top of the unit.
What’s in the box?
Hygienic and easy to use
Flies that are drawn into the Prism unit by the light (along with all the germs they carry on their bodies) will get stuck to the glueboard at the back, and you don’t even have to touch them when you dispose of the biodegradable card. Cleverly, the patented GluPac design means that, as you extract the card from the back of the unit, it folds in half, sticking to itself and concealing the dead flies inside, so you can dispose of it with ease. Just slot a new card into the top of the unit and it’s ready for use again.
Discreet good looks
The clean, modern design of the unit fits discreetly into any room of the house, while the slatted construction has been carefully thought out to ensure that flies will be drawn to the light from the sides, front and the top to maximise the catch rate.
Please note : the Insect-O-Cutor Prism is only suitable for indoor use, and is most effective away from bright light. Insect-O-Cutor recommend that the glueboard is replaced at least once a month.
To ensure you are getting the best results from your Insect-O-Cutor Prism, you should ensure the flykiller is well positioned and not obscured. As flying insects are drawn to light, including the UV lamp within Prism and the natural lighting from windows, you should ideally position Prism within the darkest area that you would like to protect. Avoid obstructing the UV light with furniture or other obstacles. To best keep your home free from flying insects, Prism should be in operation 24 hours a day. As natural light diminishes during the night, flies will be increasingly drawn to the flykiller. When the glueboard becomes full of caught insects, replace it with a new glueboard to allow for high catch rates. Position your flykiller on counter tops or wall mount at approximately 2m from ground level as this is the height whereby flies are more prevalent.

Great streamline design which nicely obscures its purpose, but carries it out very efficiently. A definite absence of flies since we bought this product.
I'm so glad that I bought this. It's already caught many flies, including big blue bottles, and the odd moth. I haven't changed the sticky sheet yet, but will be soon. I bought spares when I purchased the unit. It doesn't look unsightly and you don't hear them being zapped with electric current! We have ours positioned on the kitchen worktop, in the corner, and keep it on all of the time.
I have waited a month or so before writing this review to make sure that I knew what I was talking about. This is the most perfect, fantastic replacement for our professional blue light fly zapper which we couldn’t use because it terrified our pathetic labrador dog! This is completely silent, pretty unobtrusive, and seriously works. The only downside is that it also catches bees, but so do the zapper ones.
Even in a window, it works. I need glue boards in bulk.
I ordered this with a degree of trepidation given the previous reviews. My main reason for going with this type of flycatcher was that I didn’t want exploding flies and the subsequent body parts flying around my kitchen. I picked the position carefully and it was almost immediately successful. We live in a very rural area and it is muck spreading time I have since resited it to a bedroom that the resultant flies seem to favour and it is performing well there too.
