Lakeland Digital Bread Maker - Black

Product number: 62168

There’s nothing quite like the smell of freshly baked bread – not to mention the superior taste of a home-baked loaf, and the absence of additives commonly found in most mass-produced supermarket loaves. You can enjoy fresh bread every day without the muscle-aching kneading or time-consuming proving with our Bread Maker – you just add your ingredients and it does all the hard work for you; its clear LCD display and simple settings making it super-easy to use. Not only will it turn out loaf after loaf of baked-to-perfection bread, our contemporary bread machine will make a stylish addition to your countertop too, with its shiny black finish and stainless steel lid.

What’s in the box

  • Kneading blade
  • Non-stick bread pan
  • Measuring spoon
  • Measuring cup
  • Hook

12 programmes

With 12 programmes to choose from, you’ll never be short of a new idea to try.

  • 1. Basic – perfect for when you just want a good old, simple loaf. Add seeds, nuts or anything you fancy, for added taste and texture.
  • 2. French – with a longer rising time, choose this function for a light texture and crisp crust.
  • 3. Whole wheat – for the tastiest results, it is recommended you don’t use the delay function when baking whole wheat bread.
  • 4. Quick – If you need bread in a hurry, this setting will bake a delicious loaf in a reduced time, with a slightly denser finish.
  • 5. Sweet – bake deliciously sweet, bready treats like brioche.
  • 6. Dough – this setting will mix and rise your dough without baking, making it perfect for pizza dough, bread rolls and baguettes.
  • 7. Gluten-free – bakes the perfect gluten-free loaf, so you can enjoy bready treats without restrictions. You can also add in extra ingredients for extra flavour.
  • 8. Cake – oh yes, you can even enjoy a delicious, baked-to-perfection cake at the touch of a button.
  • 9. Sandwich – there’ll be no more limp slices of bread holding your sandwich together, as this setting will create the perfect sandwich loaf with a slightly thinner crust than the basic loaf.
  • 10. Buttermilk – use this setting for bread recipes that include butter.
  • 11. Kneading – the most arduous part of bread making… this setting is perfect if you’re wanting to make different pizza dough – or bake a batch of rolls in your oven.
  • 12. Bake – purely for baking, no kneading or rising, use this setting if your chosen programme has completed and you’d like your loaf to be baked for longer for a crisper or darker loaf.

Delay timer

Set the timer and you can enjoy freshly baked bread at the time of day that suits you, be it first thing in the morning or when you get home from work – there’s no welcome home like the aroma of a freshly baked loaf!

Keep warm function

Fancy an impromptu lie-in but you’ve already set the timer on the bread machine? Worry not! The keep warm function will keep your bread lovely and warm for an extra hour, so you can also keep warm and toasty for an extra hour in bed. How delightful!

Adjustable crust and size control

We all have a different preference with regards to the perfect loaf, so of course we wouldn’t be so mean as to provide you with only one option – you can choose between light, medium and dark crust. You can also choose between two different sizes – 700g for a smaller loaf or 900g if you have a crowd to feed.

Large viewing window

Can’t resist a sneak peak? Don’t worry, you won’t need to disturb the baking process by opening the lid as the large viewing window allows you to check on your bread’s progress whenever you fancy.

Easy to clean

Both the non-stick bread pan and kneading blades are dishwasher safe, making the post bread-making clean-up a doddle.

As with all Lakeland electricals, it’s been tested, tested and tested again until we’re confident it’s more than up to the task, is covered by our 3-year guarantee for added reassurance, and is a great price too!

"Rubbish Bread Maker"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

Bought this for my daughter as a present. The bread collapsed every time no matter what method was used. Lakeland replaced the machine without question which says to me it wasn't the first time this has happened. The replacement did exactly the same time and time again. A normal loaf never came out no matter how many adjystments were made. The machine is not fit for purpose. My daughter couldn't be bothered with the hassle it takes to return it again do it now sits unused on a shelf. Total waste of money, time and effort.REMOVE THIS UNFIT FOR PURPOSE MACHINE FROM THE MARKET LAKELAND.

"DO NOT BUY"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

Purchased this bread maker 2 days ago, to replace a very old (18) Panasonic that although still working is decidedly battered now. Have used this Lakeland rubbish 3 times to test it, twice using their basic recipe, and once my own usual one, all weighed very accurately and all totally fresh ingredients, result 3 housebricks, very heavy, dense, no rise and poor colour on the medium crust. Out of interest I then used their basic recipe in my old faithful Panasonic with excellent results. This will be returned to them for a full refund on my next day off (Monday) and off to buy another Panasonic.

support_agent A note from the team

This could be caused by the order in which the ingredients were added to the machine as this may be different to your Panasonic bread maker. Or, it's possible you were unlucky in that the machine you received was faulty. However, we’re sorry to hear of your experience and we've passed your feedback onto our buying team.

"No Problem now"

star star star star_border star_border

I had early problem with the shape of a loaf. Now I take care when adding the flour.to the water by attempting to “sprinkle” the flour, to avoid “air pockets” in the loaf. I then carefully insert the can into the machine before adding the rest of the ingredients.

"do not buy."

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

Having tried the supplied recipes all are absolutely terrible. We've spent so much time/money on wasted ingredients Lakeland should be ashamed of themselves,. We've weighed/measured every single ingredient 100% correctly using the supplied measuring spoons and a very accurate digital weighing machine. It is not our fault. This machine is substandard.

Thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear of your experience and we’ve sent you an email to offer a full refund.

"Trying to persist, but very disappointing"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

I've had this bread maker for a few months now and I've tried probably a dozen times to get a decent loaf. I've been following the instructions for quantities and method, and tried various flours including Allinsons. So far I've only had one good loaf out. The rest either don't rise at all, rise during proving and then sink again as they cook, or they are dense at the bottom and a lighter texture at the top. I've tried the recommended alterations in the troubleshooting guide, but still no joy.

support_agent A note from the team

Thank you for your review. We're sorry it didn't work well for you and pleased we were able to put things right for you. Bread machines will perform slightly differently. A sunken loaf could be due to the measures or the order the ingredients are added to the machine. Opening the lid to check the progress can also affect the bread produced.
