Lakeland Digital Bread Maker - Black

Product number: 62168

There’s nothing quite like the smell of freshly baked bread – not to mention the superior taste of a home-baked loaf, and the absence of additives commonly found in most mass-produced supermarket loaves. You can enjoy fresh bread every day without the muscle-aching kneading or time-consuming proving with our Bread Maker – you just add your ingredients and it does all the hard work for you; its clear LCD display and simple settings making it super-easy to use. Not only will it turn out loaf after loaf of baked-to-perfection bread, our contemporary bread machine will make a stylish addition to your countertop too, with its shiny black finish and stainless steel lid.

What’s in the box

  • Kneading blade
  • Non-stick bread pan
  • Measuring spoon
  • Measuring cup
  • Hook

12 programmes

With 12 programmes to choose from, you’ll never be short of a new idea to try.

  • 1. Basic – perfect for when you just want a good old, simple loaf. Add seeds, nuts or anything you fancy, for added taste and texture.
  • 2. French – with a longer rising time, choose this function for a light texture and crisp crust.
  • 3. Whole wheat – for the tastiest results, it is recommended you don’t use the delay function when baking whole wheat bread.
  • 4. Quick – If you need bread in a hurry, this setting will bake a delicious loaf in a reduced time, with a slightly denser finish.
  • 5. Sweet – bake deliciously sweet, bready treats like brioche.
  • 6. Dough – this setting will mix and rise your dough without baking, making it perfect for pizza dough, bread rolls and baguettes.
  • 7. Gluten-free – bakes the perfect gluten-free loaf, so you can enjoy bready treats without restrictions. You can also add in extra ingredients for extra flavour.
  • 8. Cake – oh yes, you can even enjoy a delicious, baked-to-perfection cake at the touch of a button.
  • 9. Sandwich – there’ll be no more limp slices of bread holding your sandwich together, as this setting will create the perfect sandwich loaf with a slightly thinner crust than the basic loaf.
  • 10. Buttermilk – use this setting for bread recipes that include butter.
  • 11. Kneading – the most arduous part of bread making… this setting is perfect if you’re wanting to make different pizza dough – or bake a batch of rolls in your oven.
  • 12. Bake – purely for baking, no kneading or rising, use this setting if your chosen programme has completed and you’d like your loaf to be baked for longer for a crisper or darker loaf.

Delay timer

Set the timer and you can enjoy freshly baked bread at the time of day that suits you, be it first thing in the morning or when you get home from work – there’s no welcome home like the aroma of a freshly baked loaf!

Keep warm function

Fancy an impromptu lie-in but you’ve already set the timer on the bread machine? Worry not! The keep warm function will keep your bread lovely and warm for an extra hour, so you can also keep warm and toasty for an extra hour in bed. How delightful!

Adjustable crust and size control

We all have a different preference with regards to the perfect loaf, so of course we wouldn’t be so mean as to provide you with only one option – you can choose between light, medium and dark crust. You can also choose between two different sizes – 700g for a smaller loaf or 900g if you have a crowd to feed.

Large viewing window

Can’t resist a sneak peak? Don’t worry, you won’t need to disturb the baking process by opening the lid as the large viewing window allows you to check on your bread’s progress whenever you fancy.

Easy to clean

Both the non-stick bread pan and kneading blades are dishwasher safe, making the post bread-making clean-up a doddle.

As with all Lakeland electricals, it’s been tested, tested and tested again until we’re confident it’s more than up to the task, is covered by our 3-year guarantee for added reassurance, and is a great price too!

"Very unreliable."

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

This bread maker replaced a Breville I bought years ago from Lakeland. This is rather flimsy in make up. The first French loaf was really good. The next one was like open work sponge. Awful unable to slice it. The dough setting is good. Used it to make rolls. Today I thought I would try the Chocolate and Walnut cake. It tastes good but is falling apart. Putting butter icing on it was almost impossible. Don't waste your money on this machine. I bitterly regret buying this.

Thank you for your review. We’re sorry it didn’t work well for you and we’ve sent you an email to help further. Different bread machines will perform slightly differently so we'd recommend to make sure to check the instructions and put the ingredients in the pan in the order advised as this can effect the results of the bake. When making a cake please do use the flour recommended in the recipe not strong bread flour.

"Excellent Lakeland Service but Disappointing Bread Maker"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

We have tried two of these bread makers with no success. As with some other users, we found the results poor with slightly soggy undercooked loaves. There was no crust, just soft doughy pale bread. We tried two different programmes and used the darker crust setting but it made no difference. Either the cooking time is not long enough or the temperature not hot enough. Lakeland has been wonderful and we have now gone back to the small Compact Bread Maker, which in the past has produced consistently excellent loaves, well risen with a delicious crust.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry it didn't work well for you and pleased we were able to put things right for you. Bread machines will perform slightly differently. A sunken loaf could be due to the measures or the order the ingredients are added to the machine. Opening the lid to check the progress can also affect the bread produced.

"Disappointing"

star star star star_border star_border

I have tried various recipes with this product all of which have been disappointing so I have now given up and arranged to return and purchase a different one. I like lakeland products but am disappointed with this one. The bake is not right with bread coming out slightly wet although it appears. to be cooked through and it does not rise enough. The measuring cup is not fit for purpose as it is extremely difficult to see the markings especially when it contains flour. I would not recommend this product.

"Message from a newbie"

star star star star star

Before today I had never baked a loaf. Being a lover of gadgets, I had always wanted to try out a breadmaker and, this was the one I tried. I've baked 2 loaves so far, sandwich first as I wanted to see how it cut the bread into slices, buttered them and added the cheese and pickle (joke). That turned out fine using the Carrs Breadmaker Strong White Bread Mix though I had to work out whether to follow the recipe in the book or the one on the packet as they differed markedly. I've just turned out the basic loaf and that looks good. At no time has the paddle stayed in the loaf. I'm impressed

"not what hoped for"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

This product is not as hoped for, Can accept the flimsy, wobbly lid but the results of bread made are random. Following the rather limited range of recipes so accurately ,new flour, and yeast has made little difference. Randomly over rising or sinking. Any recipe from an alternate source is just as random. Ginger cake was uncooked after the programme finished. I have not found this machine to be reliable and would not waste money on it
