  • PME Release-a-Cake 236g

When you’ve mixed up a beautiful bake, the last thing you want is for all your work to be wasted when half of it stubbornly refuses to come out of the tin. PME’s Release-a-Cake helps cakes slide easily from tins after baking without a crumb left behind – and without having to resort to fiddly greasing and lining.

Leave no cake behind after baking

When it comes to turning out cakes, this clever formulation means they’ll be released perfectly, even from the most intricately shaped tins. So there’ll be no more mourning ruined bakes, or carefully scraping extra mix off the bottom of your tin and trying to fit it, jigsaw-style, into the part that did turn out! And because they turn out so well, your cakes are left with a smooth surface, perfect for getting the best icing and decorating results.

Easy alternative to greasing or lining

The perfect solution if you enjoy baking, but don’t like the hassle of having to grease your tins with butter and then line them with baking parchment, all you do is pour a little into your cake tin, then use a pastry brush to spread all over the base and sides – there’s no fiddling about smearing butter, cutting and sticking baking parchment, or sifting with flour and then tipping out any messy excess.

    Ideal for intricately shaped moulds

If you’ve got a beautiful ring tin, intricate silicone mould or fancy fluted cake pan that you don’t use as much as you’d like because you’re never quite sure how your cakes are going to turn out, this is ideal. Going where greasing and lining just can’t reach, it can be ‘painted’ right into all the tricky corners so no part of your bake sticks to the tin, however delicate the detail.

    "Mrs Reavell"

I have used the Wilton product the you use to stock for years with no problems and I would have given it 5* but I do not find the PME Release-a-Cake as good. I shake it well and use a pastry brush to apply a small amount to the tins but I find that my cakes now stick when previously they didn't. Sadly I won't be buying another bottle and will be looking elsewhere to buy the Wilton brand instead.

Thank you for placing your review. I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment and I'll be in touch to help.

    "Release-a-cake"

Works really really well. Nothing else is as effective, never have to line tins if I use this

    "Best ever"

I have been using this item for a few years now and can’t understand why there are so many complaints about it. It’s literally the only product that has worked for me consistently where others have failed. For example, I have used sunflower or veggie oil to stop my rolls or cakes sticking to the baking tin and no matter how much i had put on they still got stuck. With this product all I have to do is to put on a thin lawyer and nothing sticks to the baking tin. Absolutely love it!

    "Oily and greasy"

Really don’t like this. Followed all the instructions. Has an oily texture. The Wiltons one was more of a paste. If you are only going to stock this I will look for Wiltons elsewhere.

    A note from the team

Thank you for placing your review. I'm sorry to hear it didn't meet expectations - it works best when shaken first with a few drops poured into the tin and spread using a brush. I'll be in touch to help.

    "Awful"

I regularly make waffles using a waffle iron on my gas stove. They have never been a problem. I used to grease the waffle iron with Wilton Cake Release from Lakeland. When I ordered cake release this time it had a different formula but I decided to try it out. What a disaster! The waffles stuck and when I did get them out they were greasy and horrible. What happened to the Wilton Cake Release? It was brilliant. Why change it.

    A note from the team

We recommend that the bottle is shaken well before use and only a fine layer is applied to the waffle iron; it works in a slightly different way to the Wilton Cake Release.
