Baking a gingerbread house is a tradition that’s well worth keeping alive, and we think that gluten intolerance needn’t be a hindrance, so we put this special gluten-free baking kit together so that the whole family can enjoy creating a festive abode that’s a feast for the eyes (and the tummy).
What’s in the box?
Easy to make
Joanna from our Buying Team tested this kit, and we were super impressed with the end result. “It’s easy to make, and it tasted really good, too. All I needed to add was butter, syrup and water, and everything tasted just as it should.” Combine these simple ingredients with the gluten-free gingerbread mix in the box to make a dough; roll it out, then cut out the shapes using the template on the box. After baking and cooling, your flat-pack fairy-tale house will be ready to build and decorate with the included icing ‘snow’ and pastel-coloured sugar pearls. We promise it’ll be a December afternoon well spent.

Great tasting gluten free gingerbread, my 5 yr old son loved it! Even better, it passed the taste test for the non-coeliacs in the family.

So I am wheat intolerant, this is a DIY kit, and actually pretty easy to work with, so much so my 6 yr old made more characters out of the excess. Tastes good, even to people who don't need to avoid gluten. There is quite a string kick of gingerbread after taste, but I quite like it. I just wished Lakeland sold this gingerbread mix separately also!!!!
Great to have a GF base which I made with Flora to make it dairy free (DF) too. whilst the roof was a little short on the height, my 2 year old and my sister’s 4 year old loved decprating it!
I have just brought this Gingerbread House Kit for my Five year old. He loves Junior Bake-off and wanted to get baking so we had a go at the weekend. No mess as the mixture is already ready for baking, the joy on his little face as he mixed it really made our weekend. Construction was easy as well so he could set up his Christmas scene with added decorations to give him that ' I made that' feeling. Great Fun and easy to use.
