If we’re being a bit effusive, it’s because we think these individually wrapped hazelnutty chocolate ingots, presented in a beautifully illustrated tin, are worthy of it. There was certainly a lot of satisfied murmuring around the room when we tasted them for the first time.
A bit like Nutella in chocolate form, these gianduiotti are made to a generations-old Zaini family recipe that combines toasted hazelnuts with cocoa, sugar and ‘milk’ before being shaped into the distinctive ingots. Chocolate treasure indeed!
And best of all, because they’re made without dairy, they’re vegan-friendly, too. And gluten-free. What a lovely gift they’ll make for a lucky chocolate-lover.
