Mad Millie Dairy Free Yoghurt Culture Sachets – Pack of 5

Product number: 61602

Just because you don’t or can’t eat dairy, there’s no need to miss out on the great taste of home-made yoghurt and its beneficial bacteria. Mad Millie’s freeze-dried Dairy Free Yoghurt Culture Sachets mean you can easily make batches of delicious probiotic yoghurt or yoghurt cheese.

Makes 1-2 litres

Just add a sachet to your chosen warm ‘milk’ (coconut milk, almond milk and soya milk work well) and leave to ferment for between 12-24 hours at about 40°C, then you’ll have between 1-2 litres of thick, creamy yoghurt to enjoy with your favourite toppings. Mad Millie’s dairy-free yoghurt cultures work brilliantly in our electric Multi Yoghurt Maker, which takes away all the worry about temperature control.

Culture club

Each freeze-dried sachet of yoghurt culture contains millions of live cultures including bifidobacterium lactis, lactobacillus acidophilus and streptococcus and makes between 1-2 litres of yoghurt – just pop your yoghurt in the fridge once it’s made.

Not just for making yoghurt, you can use the results to create yoghurt cheese too.

To prolong their shelf life, store your unopened sachets in the fridge or freezer – the cooler temperatures put the live cultures ‘on hold’ until you’re ready to use them.

"Great yoghurt!"

The culture sachets work very successfully with whole cows' milk. Perfect results every time! Delicious! If you feel like straining the yoghurt it turns into fabulous Greek-style creamy yoghurt as well.

Thanks for placing your review. I'm delighted you're enjoying this product. Thanks for your tip about making Greek Yoghurt too - I'm sure other customers will be delighted to hear this.

"Great tasting yoghury"

These cultures are primarily to use with soy/coconut milk but I bought them to use with nut milks.Instructions are a little sparse but after speaking to the company I was advised that homemade or UHT milk are fine.I used homemade almond and cashew milk and found the end product very palatable, although the cashew had a cheesier tang to it.Both milks were very thin so a thickner is helpful. After a few trials I now use two teaspoons of high quality gelatin mixed into the mixture when hot before cooling to 40 degrees and whisking in the cultures. I cook it for 14 hours and cool in the fridge.
