Natural flavours and colours

No added sugar
Knowing that we’re all trying to avoid the perils of refined sugars, the team at Mr Fitzpatrick’s have developed a range of cordials that are sweetened by the natural sugars in the fruit juices that flavour the cordial, and by small quantities of blended, calorie-free sweeteners.
Serving suggestions:
Dilute to taste with still, sparkling or hot water for a deliciously refreshing drink, or use it as a mixer for cocktails and mocktails – you can even pour it over desserts and ice cream to add a hit of sweet fruity ‘syrup’.

Mr Fitzpatrick’s Cordials
Julia Fitzpatrick, a keen herbalist, first created her wonderful elixirs, tonics and pick-me-ups at her Dublin kitchen table in 1836 – but in 1899 her family moved to the north of England to create a successful chain of Temperance bars serving Julia’s deliciously unique botanical beverage recipes. Time may have moved on, but the original Fitzpatrick ethos has not – their distinctive botanical cordials are still produced using time-honoured, artisan traditions.

I think this is brilliant, lovely taste, and economical because ‘dilute to taste’ means a little of the cordial to lots of fizzy water. I bought it because I’m diabetic, so having no added sugar was a selling point for me, but had to check I’d got that right because it’s delightfully, but not over, sweet. I’ll be trying the other one next time I put an order in!
This cordial is quite tasty, but the artificial sweetener it contains makes it excessively sweet, no matter how much it is diluted. This is a shame as the raspberry flavour is good and its acidity cuts through the sweetness to a certain extent. I'm afraid though that there isn't even a hint of lavender in the flavour - this is perhaps killed off by the sweetness.
