You might think it’s hard to get excited about a plastic tub and our buyers – who’ve seen more than their fair share – were the same. Until they found this brilliant range from Spanish company Tatay. Our Buyer Lyndsey took some home to try, and after about a month, realised they were her go-to containers. She even uses one to take yoghurt to work – without any messy disasters. And her colleague Jane left one filled with water upside down on her desk – not a drop escaped. Robust, durable, airtight, leakproof, versatile and stackable, they’re a fantastic kitchen basic you’ll find all sorts of uses for.
Robust and durable
Solidly constructed from BPA-free polypropylene, this robust container can cope with a bit of rough and tumble so it won’t leak if dropped and the solid base means it stays stable on flat surfaces. Designed with a coarse texture to ensure a firm grip and to reduce slipping and dropping, the container has a cloudy see-through finish so you can tell what’s inside at a glance, and there are helpful measurements on the side too.
Airtight and leakproof
The unique blue screw-top lid is easy to twist on and off, and creates an airtight and leakproof seal to prevent any spills and keep food fresher for longer, while the recess in the lid allows the container to be stacked with others. The compact size means it fits nicely into cupboards or bags, and can go in the fridge and freezer too so you can store cold foods. Heat-resistant up to 100°C and microwave safe, it’s ideal for transporting individual portions of soup and other hot foods for a packed lunch, ready to heat up when you’re hungry. And it doesn’t end there – this container can be used with non-food items as well, making it great for keeping all those little bits and bobs together, such as buttons, hair grips and stationery.

I love this. It's airtight and leakproof, so I use it to take a portion of yoghurt and fresh fruit to work for lunch. It's much neater than the other leakproof containers I've bought from Lakeland in the past, the ones where you have to clip down the lid around the sides. This is just a simple screw-top, no fuss, easy to use.
I recently started making home-made yogurt and have been taking portions to work but all of my existing containers leaked. I bought one of these Tatay pots just to see how leak-proof it actually was and have ended up buying 5 more. I have used the pot all of last week with no problems - no liquid yogurt at the bottom of my bag. I would definitely recommend this brand and I don't think the price is unreasonable as they will last for years. Even the lady in Lakeland agreed she uses these all the time.
I have 2 200 mils which I use for portioning our evening 50mil fruit and mixed nut treat it fills about halfway and then there is room to fish around for the nut or raisin slowing down the handful of nuts we used to scarf I also have a 400 mil size which comes in handy
Having been satisfied that this item was leakproof, as other reviewers said, I was happy to pop it into my lunch bag and cycled to work. Upon arrival at work, I realised the milk had gone all over the inside of my bag. Not happy. So I returned the item to the shop and asked for a new one, hoping that it was just a fluke. Sadly, the second one also leaked. I will return the item once more and get my money back this time. Very disapppointed.
