There’s something about the smell of freshly baked bread that makes any house feel like home, and with Panasonic’s Croustina Automatic Bread Making Machine, you can create that wonderful aroma every day with very little effort. With a multitude of baking options to choose from including hard crust, soft white, gluten-free and cake programmes, you can even set the timer to bake while you’re asleep and wake to a fresh-baked, crisp-crusted breakfast loaf… So all your family need do is choose their favourite spreads – will it be jam, marmalade or Marmite?

Unique oval baking pan

Unlike most bread machines, this model has an oval baking pan to bake a more rustic loaf – far more appealing than a standard bread maker’s square loaves – and the shape optimises the oven-like qualities of the machine to make a crisper crusted loaf.

Panasonic have spent a lot of time ensuring the ribs on the pan and kneading action of the paddle in this bread maker replicate the techniques of artisan bakers – and when you’re using the ‘raisin’ and ‘stuffed’ programmes, the blade’s rotations are certain to distribute the ingredients perfectly throughout the bread. The pan and the stirring/kneading paddle are coated with a durable ceramic non-stick lining which is free from BPA, PTFE and PFOA.

Digital display with simple controls

Easy-to-read, the digital display makes it clear how long is left to go with its countdown timer, and includes simple hand icons that alert you to any process that needs your help – such as adding raisins or sundried tomatoes to a ‘stuffed’ loaf. Simple push-button controls make it easy to select the programme that’s right for your bread, cake or jam recipe, as well as the size of loaf you’d like to bake, and whether you’d prefer a pale or darker golden crust.

• Crusty Whole Wheat Raisin – a crusty brown bread with added nuts, sweets or dried fruit.
• Crusty Lean – a thin-crusted white bread with no added sugar or butter, it’s similar to a baguette in texture.
• Lean Raisin – as above with the option to add nuts, raisins etc.
• Soft – makes a soft white bread that’s great for breakfast toast and sandwiches.
• Soft Raisin – a soft white loaf that lets you add dried fruit, nuts or seeds.
• Soft Rapid – for days when you forgot to set the timer, or when you’ve just returned from holiday and need a loaf of bread to feed the hungry travellers.

• Brioche – that deliciously rich continental bread recipe made with butter and eggs.

Inbuilt temperature sensors

Two temperature sensors track the internal temperature of the bread maker as you might expect, but they also check the room temperature to ensure your bread will always prove perfectly, no matter what the temperature in your home – so you’ll get consistent results regardless of the region you live in or the time of year.

Delay timer

The delay timer can be set up to 13 hours in advance of the baked result. So if you have friends coming for supper, but you’re busy with all the other elements of the meal, your bread maker will organise the bread to be ready at just the right time to go along with your starter. And of course, it’s a boon for busy breakfast times.

Auto shut-off

The Croustina will alert you to the end of a baking cycle with 8 audible beeps, and then shut down.
