Rubies In The Rubble’s London Piccalilli was originally developed for Jamie Oliver's house hotdog in his Piccadilly Circus diner. A fresh take on the classic piccalilli recipe, this bright green condiment is full of crunchy pickled cucumbers in a mustard relish, with a little kick from a pinch of cayenne pepper – delish! Made with cucumbers that are too curly to fit through supermarket cellophane wrapping machines, and presented in an attractive Kilner-style jar, it’s delicious with cold meats, cheese and hotdogs and amazing with burgers, or even with a cream cheese and smoked salmon bagel for a tasty twist.

Rubies In The Rubble fight food waste with relish! Jenny, their Scottish-born founder, started the business after seeing huge amounts of discarded produce at fruit and veg markets across London. Beautiful tomatoes, mangoes, onions and more… all headed for landfill, often because they simply didn't look ‘perfect’. With a mission to make the best relishes around, rescuing fruit that’s in a pickle, the team now partners with UK farms to buy crops that would otherwise be discarded because of their appearance, whether that’s too big, too small, too ripe or even just a bit pear-shaped. The recipes created from these ‘rescued’ items have to pass a taste test, not a beauty contest, and we think you’ll agree they’re too good to refuse.
