Described by its aficionados as ‘pudding in a glass’, Lakes Gingerbread Vodka really is one for the sweeter-toothed vodka lovers.
Traditional Lake District gingerbread – a crumbly, biscuity tablet rather than a cake or loaf-style gingerbread – has been made in Cumbria since sugar first arrived on the west coast from the Caribbean in the 16th century and relished by visitors ever since. Even mentioned by Dorothy Wordsworth in her journal, it’s a bit of a local legend so the Mint Drinks Company was keen to follow up the success of their Kendal Mint Cake Vodka by capturing its distinctive taste in their second flavoured vodka.
They say that it took a bit of fettling to get the recipe right this time, but finally this gingery nectar was born and we’re so glad it was. Fans of Cumbrian gingerbread will be perfectly happy sipping it neat over ice, but it would also make a great twist on a Moscow Mule or a Russian Coffee or you could pour it over ice cream, cheesecake or other creamy desserts to add a warm, gingery glow.

Bought this as I was intrigued, thought I'd give it a try. It is fantastically delicious. You would hardly even know there is any alcohol in there! Its amazing... Perfect gift too. I think a lot of my friends will be getting this from me this Christmas!
Bought this together with other liqueurs for after dinner drinks with my family. This proved to be the most popular by far, even with those who didn't think they would like it! It has an unmistakeable gingerbread taste with a vodka kick, I will be buying it again.
If you like Vodka and you like Gingerbread then this is great. Lovely taste, nice and smooth!
